Cardinals Suffer Another Loss
It was another rough night for the Cardinal bats as they failed to put a run on the board against the Shark Club Dodgers and lost 1-0.
The bright spot again was the pitching as Reese Jones went 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and just 1 run, but suffered the loss. He could not be helped by a Cardinal offence that spread 6 hits over 7 innings but could not get a runner to cross home. The closest they got was in the top of the first inning when a runner on third was stranded as Warren Medwid hit into an inning ending double play.
The Dodgers took the momentum of saving that run into the bottom of the first and scored the lone run of the game. Pitcher and league president Brad Franklin was able to keep the scoreboard empty for the expansion Dodgers.
Rookie Russell Taylor kept the bases clean in his only inning of relief.
The Cardinals next face the Fisgard Astros on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 PM as they try to find their 3rd win of the season.
